About Us
The school of St. Albert the Great first opened its doors on Monday, September 12, 1955. The first St. Albert's School was located across from the University of Nevada, Reno campus. There were 138 students enrolled during that first year. In 1965 it moved to its current location on St. Albert Drive, Reno NV
We have a staff of 12 certified teachers who teach our 285 students. Not only do we have kindergarten through 8th grade levels, but there also is a Child Development Center located next door to educate our future St. Albert's students. Along with our strong academic and religious curriculum we offer physical education, technology instruction through our computer lab, library and resource center, music, and a variety of programs. All of our students attend mass on a weekly basis.
St. Albert's is accredited by the Western Catholic Education Association.
We invite everyone to stop by and visit our school. We know you will see the difference. Academic excellence through gospel teachings make for our excellent and successful formula. To top it off, our students have fun learning on a daily basis.

We, the staff of Saint Albert the Great Catholic School, in active participation with our parents and parish, are dedicated to challenging every child to grow in spirit, mind and body, within the framework of individual, social, and cultural understanding and respect.
In the pursuit of academic excellence, we at Saint Albert the Great Catholic School are committed to providing the environment and motivation for students to develop critical thinking and effective communication skills that will allow them to reach their greatest potential. At Saint Albert the Great Catholic School, we believe that through our teaching and by our example, we bring the students to an understanding of Catholic identity and of their importance in the community and the fellowship we all share.
We pray that, through God's grace and as servants of Christ the Teacher, we are inspiring the children to RISE by living the gospel message of Christ, by responding to Jesus' command that we love one another, and by serving others as Jesus did.
