We will be implementing some of our same procedures for delayed starts and/or school cancellations for this year due to inclement weather conditions and/or unsafe travel. The following will be adhered to:
- A call from a school representative @ 6:00am on SchoolReach
- Check Channel 8 KOLO (It will run on their Ticker Tape throughout the morning)
- Please keep in mind that we will most likely be following the Washoe County School District's recommendations since they have been canvassing the area in the early hours. However, there may be a time when we deviate slightly from their recommendations. For example, they might want to go on a 2 hour delayed start, but we feel a 1 hour delay would be sufficient for St. Albert's. This won't always be the case; it's merely an option we might utilize. Keep in mind that safety is the most important issue here.
- Please note that there will be no extended day in the AM should we have any type of delayed start. We do not have the extended day staff available on these occasions. So if we are on a 2-hour delay, grades 6-8 need to be at school by 10:15 am and grades K-5 need to be at school by 10:30am. Please also note that on days with a delayed start, we have NO supervision before 9:00am on a 1 hour delay and 10:00 am on a 2 hour delay. Do not bring your children to school before those time.
